Fequently Asked Questions Cuba
1) How will we be able to pay you- do you take Visa/Master Card and etc...? We are halfway around the world so will need to figure out a way to pay the deposit.
You can pay the deposit by money transfer (from your bank) to my account.
Once we have confirmed all the relevant details and we are ready to proceed with your wedding day reservation I will send you the necessary information.
2) Can you tell us the locations in Cuba you are thinking of going to in addition to the resort?
Most of the main historic sites are in Havana. There are a lot of options for amazing architecture and scenic shots there. It all depends on how adventurous you are feeling and how much time you have. I recommend picking up a guidebook and reading about things to do and see in Havana and Varadero.
There are a multitude of opportunities in Old Havana (Havana Viaja), Hotel National, along the Malecon and at the lighthouse in the capital city. These locations alone will keep us busy for 3/4 of a day. See the packages link for more info
3) When would we do the location shots? Is it only one day we would need?
We can do more than one day (weather dependent), but we should be able to get everything done in one day. Havana can be reached in a 3 hour, $10 bus ride, so you might need to consider staying at least 1 night. It is an amazing city to explore, so take the time if you are able to.
4. Can you recommend some places in Varadaro to visit?
Even though I am more familiar with the the rest of Cuba I have spent some time exploring Varadero. It is a little resort town, with lots of touristy entertainment. Most people go for the beaches to relax and play in the sunshine.
5) Can we still have the photographer from the resort take the photos in addition to you or is it one or the other?
I will cover the whole day from preparations to the the dancing and cutting of the cake (including lots of time for family and friend shots . If you want I can make CD's for your friends and family (or you can do it yourself ) so that your friends don't even have to lift their camera.
6) When we go into Varadero - will there be somewhere I can change into the dress or would I have to wear it from the resort ?
Varadero is only 15 min away from the Iberostar and Sandals resort. So you can go in your dress, or change there at a hotel in town without a problem.
The wedding day will be focused in and around the your resort and the beautiful beaches. The day will be busy enough and there are ample locations for beautiful photos there so we will probably not leave the resort your wedding day.
Your 2nd/3rd day will be the location photography. Most likely in and around Havana.
It can be scheduled at your convenience. I suggest at least a day or 2 of recovery from the wedding before doing the location photography.
7) When do we schedule in photography on the wedding day? Are they taken before or after the ceremony? How long does it usually take to get the photos done?
We can do the photos before, after or even both, depending on what you want. The total amount of time you allocate to photos is up to you.
I will be photographing and recording the moments of the whole day from the Bridal party preparations until the dancing. I will be shooting with a blend of candid photojournalism and fun, semi-posed photos (prompted photos) The bridal party and family should be prepared for at least an hour of photos after the ceremony coverage. I would also like to create some really nice beach shots with each couple during the day and at sunset. We are there to celebrate being in Paradise are we not ? |
